Good evening team.

My specific problem is that I have no playback devices available in win7 64bit. I have just installed the "Realtek_Win7-64_Win7_Vista64_Vista_XP64_XP(6378).zip" driver for my M3A770DE mobo.

I would appreciate any advice and guidance in helping resolve my problem.

Ultimately, I wish to record my synthesizer thru my "line in" and a guitar thru the rear "mic in".

If there is a document you can point me to , i would sure appreciate it.

I enclose a couple of images showing my state of affairs.

thanks for looking

Hmmm.........2 microphones?

Have you right clicked in the white area of that recording tab in the first pic? You may see a choice pop up for "enable disabled devices" and "enable disconnected devices". Don't ask my why they do it that way.

Did you get that Realtek driver from Realtek, from a disc, or from your motherboard manufacturer?

Maybe because it doesn't have Realtek audio, and actually has Via audio,

ASRock > Products > M3A770DE

Audio- 7.1 CH Windows® Vista™ Premium Level HD Audio (VIA® VT1708S Audio Codec)

Might want to uninstall the Realtek driver and install the Via one instead.

Hi stormy13, Hi ignatazsonic,

Thanks for yur prompt replies. The solution lay with the audio codec. Stormy pointed me in the right direction with his clue "Audio- 7.1 CH Windows® Vista™ Premium Level HD Audio (VIA® VT1708S Audio Codec)". I looked at the mobo spec and indeed it was this audio codec and no the realtek one. I can now see my playback devices.

I do have a related, but separate issue to resolve that i shall raise as a new topic.

Thanks once again to both of you.
