thanks for the help with the imgburn. i have a repair disk now but it isnt what i needed. i can get to the same options from the control panel on my desktop. If i was supposed to run off a copy of pre-installed installation files when i got my computer where would it be?

It's the manufacturers who are refusing to supply clean-copy Installation DVD's in order to enforce the sponsored factory bloatware which can make up most of their profit margin on consumer rigs - in spite of the fact that MS requires them under their OEM agreement to provide a clean method to reinstall just the OS. They don't want to make it easy.

And MS will not offers installers to anyone other than someone holding a retail key as otherwise they view it as encouraging piracy.

Bryan, try downloading and burning another Repair CD using ImgBurn at 4x speed.

Samsung are refusing to supply any type disk.
