No Internet Access

Hey Guys,
I am running a 32 bit Windows 7 Ultimate and this is my situation. My hard drive became damaged and I had to get a new one, the new one I got had the Windows 7 on it and my previous OS was windows XP. When i got the new hard drive with windows 7 I tried connecting to my router, it connected to the router but it just marks 'No Internet Access'. So I decided to try the internet wired, and guess what? No internet access again. So I am not getting internet access wired neither wireless. I have no idea of the problem and I would greatly appreciate help as soon as possible. Thanks In advance

If you got a hard drive that already had windows 7 installed before it went into your system, it's pretty amazing that you're even able to get it to boot, and the reason you're having problems is pretty obvious. my first question is where did you get a HDD that came with windows 7? If it was from the factory, and they charged you for it, get in touch with them, demand a windows 7 install disk, and reinstall windows yourself, or have someone you know help you with it..

I've done hundreds of computer setups this year and have yet to see any vista capable system, (other than a MacBook) that had absolutely no network connectivity before windows 7 even finished installing, but in order for it to be a successful installation it has to be done with the HDD in the computer or with an image made from an identical hardware configuration. You might still be able to get everything working, but unless you reinstall windows you'll probably have all kinds of errors for as long as you own the computer..

No, i did not instakk the hard drive, i sent the computer somewhere and they did everything, it is most likely that they put in the hard drive and then install windows 7

Sry.. was on the wrong track with the last post. didn't read your first post thoroughly and had my mind on something else when I responded

Try unplugging the router for at least 30 seconds, and while it's unplugged, shut down and disconnect any other computers that may be connected to it, then plug the router back in, wait for it to finish starting up and reconnect the internet. if that doesn't work look for a reset button. you'll probably need a paperclip or something to reset it.
