No internet access!

ok, so i may not be a tech wizard when it comes to computers, but i know my fair share about it.. and on one of my buddies computers. it constantly tells me that i have no internet connection but that i am connected to the internet. ive tried many supposed fixes, none worked. i use his computer to plug up my xbox and get xbox live through a bridged connection. ive done it many times before... just now it tells me no internet access....! any help would be appreciated!!!!

I am confused. You can connect to the internet, but it just says it cant?

Would be simple if you had a backup from before the problem started.

Do you have the win 7 dvd to do a repair install?

Is it just that it annoys you but does work?

Is it a wireless setup? If so, has the security changed on the router as this will show the symptoms as described..ie. router is connected to the internet but you can't connect through. The other option that may help is to reboot your router as it may have screwed up? Also, you could try right clicking on your network connection in your tray at the bottom left and try troubleshooting your network connection.
