No Internet TV or Netflix in Media Center

Ok, I have a relatively new computer (6 months old Alienware) with Windows 7 Ultimate. I never knew there could be an option for Internet TV or Netflix in Media Center until my wife got a new computer two days ago (Windows 7 Home Premium) and I saw that she had a button for both Internet TV and Netflix. I've updated everything I can but still no option for the internet TV. Neither my wife's computer or mine has a tv tuner, but I'm told that doesn't matter. Any thoughts on what I need to do to get these options in my Media Center? Appreciate any help on this. Thanks in advance.

Go to "SEttings" > "General", then select "Automatic Download Options". Check the box to "Automatically download Windows Media Center Data between the following times", then click "Download Now" at the bottom.

I've even downloaded updates.
still one computer has the option and not the second one.

CCleaner killed it for me - had to quit using it, but the fix was to go into add/remove programs and then add/remove Windows components - find Media Center & UNINSTALL it - reboot and go back to add/remove components and REINSTALL WMC - worked for me every time ccleaner messed up NetFlix and TV add-ins
- You will also have to redo your desired settings

uninstalled and re-installed.
still no internet tv option.
I realized that I have it on my laptop..
then I realized that both of my wireless units have the option.
my main unit is hard-wired and it's the one without the internet tv option...

after the install and re-install I manually ran the mcupdate as admin.
waited then open media center.
internet tv option and install.!
WTF.

hmm i have done the updates, still no windows media internet tv or netflix option.

reinstalled as above still nothing.

any other suggestions? do i just need to reboot?

they worked the first time ,but back at the main menu how do i access them again?

i am rebooting that machien now to see if that makes a difference.

ok i just checked my other windows 7 ultimate machine that is 64bit and Internet TV is an option on the tv settings.

why not on my 32bit machine?? how do i get it installed?

incase anyone is following this thread .... here is more news.

i read online that this may happen if you are accessing the macihne via rdp, which i am. there is no monitor plugged into it, it sits in a closet with other home theater stuff.

i am installing vnc to see if that will work, as it doesnt use the rdp protocol.

will post my findings.

ok via ultravnc (couldnt get tightvnc to work) everyting seems to be good.

next to try it via my xbox360 which is the ultimate goal. not sure if this is going to work, havent looked in to it yet.
