No matter what I do, this computer is just never happy with it...

Excuse my way of wording this, but honestly... No matter what I do to this computer, it seems to find some damn reason to shut itself off due to some heat issue it's experiencing.

I have tried:

> lowering the clock on the CPU via the BIOS, which didn't seem to help much at all)

> lowering the clock on the GPU, all that did was cause my screen to obtain a beautiful rainbow pattern, then my computer shut down, then my GPU reset it's own settings.

> tried increasing fan speeds, but even at 90%-100%, it barely prevents shutdowns.

> Put it in an area where it has absolute maximum airflow, where NOTHING is restricted, and it had literally no effect whatsoever.

> Changed cooling fluid, that didn't do anything to the heat problem.

> Changed fans, and added more than I originally had, didn't solve the problem, in fact, it only successfully reduced the overall temperatures by 1 C.

And I'm not even running these games on any sort of "high definition" settings, I'm running them on the absolute minimum, something this computer should have absolutely no problems with.

It also doesn't help that now it's experiencing lag issues on almost every game, again, on low settings, even though it SHOULD be having no problems whatsoever, especially on low.

So, should I even bother trying to get this thing to be pleased with all the BS I've gone through to get it to function half-decent, or just throw it in the trash?

I'm seriously considering just forgetting about game development (my intended career) and going for something else, PCs are too damn prissy, I've had issues with every single one that I've ever owned, it's either too slow, or too dated, or in this one's case, too hot all the time for seemingly no reason whatsoever other than just to do it.

I honestly don't understand how people get their PCs to just magically run absolutely perfect without issues like what I always seem to deal with. I'm using the same parts (if not better) than what most people use, and yet I seem to run into issues that almost no one seems to have.

What are your temps at idle, and under load?

CPU at idle is generally 39-40 C, under load it usually goes to 70-75 C.

GPU at idle is generally 43-45 C, under load it usually goes to 65-80 C.

That seems a little hot for idle, and too hot for the CPU under load. The max temp on an FX 8350 is around 62C, if I recall correctly. That's likely why you're getting shutdowns. I see that you're using liquid cooling, what are you using for thermal paste?

I also see by your specs that you are overclocking. I wouldn't overclock that chip until you get your temps under control and solve this issue. Get your machine cool and stable, then OC.
