Follow this steps:

Network and Sharing Center > Change adapter settings > right click on adapter name, then Properties > Configure > Advanced tab > Network address> put some values in and it seems like starting with 12 works best for Windows 7 according to TechNet site.

I tried that... Didn't work and I didn't quite understand every thing ... what is mac anyway ? I tried physical address of my ethernet adapter (wich i looked in ipconfig "E0-CB-4E-0C-3B-89") then I changed first 2 values with "12" ... "12CB4E0C89" didn't work anyway...
wich values should i put in?

I suspect it might be the NIC problem ... How could I check if all my hardwer works properly ? In Device Maneger seems everything ok.

How could I run registry cleaner ? I can screenshot my registry or services ... if that would be helpfull to anyone

How can I Clone mac ?
Could you look in to my previous post, where are screens of my ipconfig ? If I understand correctly... I shoud change from "E0-CB-4E-0C-3B-89" to "00-80-48-C2-39-3B" ?

I solved the problem ! (well You guys did) i changed MAC from "E0-CB-4E-0C-3B-89" to "00-80-48-C2-39-3B" and it worked I can't really belive it ... it was so easy... I'm so happy right now Thank you all !!!! You are the best ! I would never figure this out my self.

I'm not sure what is up with these MAC addresses changing or becoming unusable but it seems to be another of those strange Win 7 things that I havn't yet figured out the answer too.

At least I thought of it in the first place I guess but that was because the other guy was having the same types of unassignable IP router problems so I figured it was just another strange MAC address problem.

At any rate I shall add this fix to my list of strange and unusual problems that only Windows 7 seems to have. I'm glad that you are up and running Lisjak.

I'm not so sure the numbers matching matter as much as just changing the MAC to something else. It seems like once the adaptor drivers were changed the router needed to see a different MAC address or it wouldn't assign the new IP for some reason. I would think a reset would fix that sorta problem though.

I'll bet the ISP has fixed the MAC address somewhere. The only logical place is via the cable modem.

I still think he needs to contact his ISP. The problem *isn't* his computer nor W7.

Like I said: It's an issue with the ISP and cable modem. It's not limited to W7 or any other platform. I've seen this before. Last time it was a Windows2000 system.

My ISP do this too, they "locks" to anything that connects to the cable modem port (in my case, it's a Mikrotik router). If I were to change the Mikrotik router, I must call them and ask them to re-"register" my device before I can use the internet connection.

The Thread Starter's issue is definitely a Mac-address lock-in issue.

Maybe the Op needs to reset his MAC address. Lots of problems with MAC addresses and Window 7 for some reason. You can use the software in the link below for this, it has a good tutorial also.

It worked for this guy anyway and it's all I can think of.

I'm pretty sure this post had something to do with solving the problem. And yes I would call the MAC address change a last ditch effort to make it work again. I even looked up an alternate way to change the MAC at TechNet using the registry. This was a very recent problem over at TechNet.

What I think happend is that the MAC address was somehow cloned by the router so it would not assign a new IP because of that, I think your correct about that RedBird. Or the modem just wasn't up to par but I certainly never had those problems with my modem.

I've changed routers 4 times and never had to call my ISP. :sarc:

I've never seen it on routers or DSL modems. Only cable modems which is what the OP had if memory serves me.

I blew 2 hours of fiddling at a friends house before I figured out what it was. Just about drove me nuts. I agree it's not something you'd see frequently.
