No pics in Word 2010

I'm not sure why, but ever since the latest patches were put out on 7/11/14, all the pictures in my Word 2010 documents are just empty white boxes. This is true for .docx files I had saved before the patch release, and those I've tried to create since. I have Office 2010 Pro Plus, which I have the disk for. I am running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit on a Dell Optiplex with 4GB of RAM, 3.0 GHz Intel Core II Duo CPU. I have not noted any other problems, with either Office or the OS. Anyone else experiencing similar problems? I'm not sure if one of the patches is responsible, or if I should reinstall Office. Thanks for insight the forum can provide.

Thank you, the article was very helpful. Once I switched from print view to full screen, the pics were visisble. I'm still not sure why I didn't have this problem before, since my Word docs have always defaulted to Print view, and I just recently started having this problem. I'm still investigating, when I figure it out, I'll let everyone know
