Hello. I am still having issues with Windows 7. When I try to use my TV tuners in WMC I only have a black screen with audio. When using Cyberlink PowerDVD 7 to play Blu Rays and HD DVDs, the screen is green with audio. I'd like to note that both of these programs work perfect in Vista 32 bit (and I've tested the TV tuner in Vista 64 bit and it worked). Here is my setup..

Windows 7 Professional (64 bit)
AMD Phenom II X4 940
XFX Radeon 4890
Hauppage HVR-1800 (tv tuner)
Hauppage 950-Q (tv tuner)

All of my drivers are updated (I've tried the drivers from the official site as well as the ones that Windows 7 pushes out). I've googled this problem many times but never seem to find anything that works for me. As far as the TV tuners go I am 100% positive they work, I moved the USB 950-Q to my laptop running Vista Home 64 bit and it works fine. I do not have any 3rd party codecs installed at all. I have tried 3rd party codecs but when this didnt work I did a clean install of W7 to make sure they didn't leave anything that would interfere and cause problems. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!

Do the cards work OK using Hauppage's WinTV app?

Unfortunately I am unable to try the WinTV software. When I do the install it asks for my WinTV CD. I put in the CD but it won't accept it. I did try plugging the 950Q (usb) into my other computer running W7 (using a Nvidia card) and it does work. There must a compatibility issue with my Radeon 4890 and the TV Tuner. I've installed the latest drivers but this doesn't resolve the issue.

Hello unfortunately when using that download it requires a WIN TV cd to be inserted. I have tried the disc from my HVR-1800 as well as the one from my 950Q and neither will work. I think the solution to this problem is selling my Radeon 4890. I can get my TV tuner to work fine in my other computer (running a Nvidia card). I also found that in PowerDVD if I turn off graphics accelaration (ATI Avivo) it will play regular DVDs (not Blu Rays). As soon as the accelaration is turned on I get the green screen again. :( I have the official drivers from ATI (12/17) and it still won't work. I even did a clean install of W7 to make sure the old drivers weren't interfering. Any suggestions for a comparible Nvidia card?

The problem was with the Radeon 4890 card. I took it out and plugged an HDMI cable into my onboard video (Radeon HD 3300) and both PowerDVD and WMC work. The picture quality is in 4:3 and low in WMC but this is how it was in Vista too. I wonder if I have a defective card (4890) or if this was a driver issue?
