no power?

i just finished putting in a few upgrades, motherboard, power supply and CPU. Ive connected everything correctly and it wont turn on, i double checked everything was plugged in right and connected to power but nothing. The only thing i can think of is the front panel power switch connectors, the case power cable that goes to the motherboard is two hole little thing, but the motherboard has 3 prongs, i connected the positive to the positive and the negative in the space next to it (going the right way) is this the right thing to do? Can anyone think of any other reason this might happen? PS i checked the power outlet is on and all those silly little things!

Hi Lisaone,

The only way for anyone here to properly advise is from the actual specs of the hardware involved.

If you can post your M/B and if possible case/PSU Etc specs there is a lot of experience on the forum and I'm sure someone will have a definitive answer

oh i see, i didnt think anyone would know them off the top of their heads, i underestimate? My Case is NZXT Tempest, it has 2 pin power switch connecter, the motherboard is Gigabyte H55-UD-3H it has the three pins for power switch, the power supply is 750watt kamariki scythe

yeaqh, im clever, i was trying to attach power switch to power led connector.

Reading through the manual for the motherboard shows a standard front panel header with two pins allocated for the power switch (Section 1/7 item 9 Page 25) the only Three pin connector is the speaker connector although there is a PWR_FAN header shown on page 23.

I would check that you are connecting to the correct header as this is a little confusing
