Solved No programs will open

I recently had the win 7 anti-virus problem. I had that and other problems removed using superanti spyware then running symantic endpoint security. My current problem is that I am unable to open a any program. When I attempt to open a program I get the message ...

"This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Please install a program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel."

This same message applies for any type of program I attempt to run. Is there a way to fix this problem rather than try to create an association in the control panel for each program?
