No scan or update reports in MSE

Hello,
I have noticed on W 7 that MSE shows no update or scan records. All of the other AV software I have used shows reports that at least say scan performed, nothing found and/or updates completed successfully with a date shown. Am I missing something? Is there a setting I'm not seeing? Thanks,

You cleared up the update history, but where you have the red arrows in scan history, I'm not seeing that. I took a screen shot of mine.

That's the screen I get after clicking on the View Details button, so no worries.

I forgot that I had this setting unchecked for why I see it and you do not.

Just an added note about the Settings image Brink posted.

I am a firm believer in using System Restore before making any system changes. It is a particularly nice feature of Microsoft Security Essentials that the setting to "Create a system restore point before applying actions to detected items." is default. Thus, in the event a false/positive should occur, using System Restore will quickly resolve the issue. I am not aware of any other antivirus software using that feature.

I believe in system restore also. I'm not looking to hack the registery. I'm just looking for reports and log files in MSE, so I'm confused about your reply.

Did you click on the Save Changes button after unchecking it?

As far as the reports go, you will not see any entries unless MSE actually found a thread and you either allowed, quarantined, or deleted it.

• MSE
• Avast Antivirus free edition
• Windows Firewall
• built-in hardware firewall in router
• and avoiding dodgy sites and links.

So i have a question brink how do you run Avast with MSE cause i read that a lot of people run both together. Do you turn of Real Time Protection or do they co op fine with each other?

I have them both running with real time protection turned on at the same time. They (Alwil & MS) had worked together to make sure that that they would not conflict with each other.
