No software for new SSD

Hi, I have recently bought an Asus T101MT to use as a navigation tool when I am offroading in the back country. I have an SSD to replace the HDD so it will be a little more rugged when hitting bumps and rocks in the road.

The problem is I have no installation disc for W7 starter to install on the SSD. I bought an anytime upgrade also but it only came with a key.

So I have a key for starter and a key for an anytime upgrade to home but no software for either. Is there any way I can get one of these licenses to work on the SSD without buying a full version?

You need to call up Asus and request that they send you the installation disc for your copy of Windows 7 Starter. This will allow you to install it on the SSD and then you can use the anytime upgrade.

Maybe you could borrow a disc from someone you know and then install using your keys? Then all you would have to do is go to ASUS's site and download the drivers if you don't back them up. There is a way to edit a Windows 7 disc to unlock all versions. I think the tutorial is here on the website some place.

I would think that you could clone the system as it is right now on the spinning disk and transfer it to the SSD. Acronis is probably the best tool for that. Just make sure you first initiate and align the SSD and create an active partition on the SSD.
