no sound from movie/card/w/e

Hi
just installed a creative titanium soundcard. according to device manager card is working and when I test it i get sound thru headphones..no speakers are connected.
However as soon as i want to play a dvd theres no sound coming thru the headphones nor is there any sound from WOW when i log into the game.
Never mind that the bloody box tells you to connect your headphone into 1 jack and the manual tells you to connect to a different jack.
Been stuffin around with this for an hour and i have no idea whats up..

any clues guys?

wouldnt have anything to do with the ATI hi def sound driver that installs with the card would it? because I cant find any control for that or any way to disable it,,on board is disabled btw

nps..problem fixed..input according to box it came in is incorrect..re installed drivers etc and found another setting for headphones only re volume in the crapware creative installs.

so all is good
