no sound notification when skype contact comes online

Skype version 8.36.0.52 Previous ver. played a sound when contact came online. Is that no longer possible? I see nothing in settings about it.

Thanks for the suggestion. It rings when call comes in and can hear the caller. So there is no overall audio problem. Just no short sound when contact comes online. Maybe this feature was deleted with newer version.

Are you getting a notification when the contact comes on line?

I don't know if there is a visual as it might have appeared when was away. I do remember in the past ver. a small box appeared at bottom right of desktop lasting a few seconds. I'm using Skype version 8.36.0.52 now. I guess one can look at the Active Now list. I will try that next time online with someone.

I don't use Skype, although I have it installed. I tryed to log in some I could look at the Options but it wouldn't recognize my password and try to change it was a big hassle.

There is supposedly the ability to select if you want to hear a sound with a notification in the Notification settings.
