I have no sound and I can't figure out why. i've tried updating all kinds of drivers, etc. and nothing happens. (latest realtek, etc.) i've looked at other threads first, and nothing there seems to have worked for me either.
any ideas? see my profile for my specs.
any advice would be amazing
possibly helpful details:
x64 professional
bought upgrade, but had to reformat and do it from scratch because XP Pro was x86
sound worked on XP Pro x86 no problem
when i go to the device manager my sound card is called "High Definition Audio Device"
when I select playback device i'm given two obtions:
a) Digital Audio (S/PDIF)
b) Digital Audio (HDMI)
(never speakers or headphones)
