no sound =[

Recently updated laptop from windows xp to windows 7 ultimate.
No sound when plugging in headphones, laptop isn't even detecting headphones, sound is fine when playing it out loud through speakers.

Hi, you're not giving us much to go on cafetropicana, a vague model number and sound doesn't work through the jacks, can you try and find out what your sound card is? it would be a great help, thank you.
