No Speakers or headphones are plugged in

Laptop model is usually listed on the laptop on the bottom, on a label, and often above the keyboard, but the sticker on the bottom of it, should be there.

The Motherboard is one part of the PC and it's important, but not the model, during manufacturering in bulk like Acer, HP and all the huge makers do, they might go through multiple motherboard versions for the SAME model, so it's confusing/bad indicator.

If you only show HDMI then there is no sound installed.

Check the ACER site for any motherboard "chipset" drivers. Download and install them first, then the sound driver. See if that helps.

Ultimately it may take a complete reinstall to get it working. If there is some windows OS corruption that is causing it the reinstall may be required. I've seen this before.

I can't think of anything other than a complete (factory) reinstall, and if its a hardware problem even that won't fix it.

I assume this worked OK at one time.
