Ok so I have a laptop and the soundcard comes up in Device Manager as Conexant High Definition Audio. The drivers are downloaded direct from Packard Bell and are up to date. They only list one set of drivers so "rolling back" is not possible.

I go to recording devices right click there and tick both boxes but the only thing that shows is the Mic.

I have no idea why it wont show stereo mix or mono mix or whatever so can someone give me a hand and tell me what else to try please.

Cheers.

If the PC Vendor's drivers do not provide the System Mixer, you MAY be able to use a Connexent driver from somewhere else and possibily that has the system mixer. There are some new PC's that do not have the System Mixer (or similar) function.

Do a search on this forum, I know there are other posts about Connexent and maybe one of them has a link to a driver.

Another possibility, go to the Device Manager and RIGHT click on the Connexent entry to highlight it and then LEFT click "Uninstall" ALSO check the box to uninstall the drivers. Then restart the PC and make sure you are on line and when Windows starts it will detect and install the device (let Windows search for a driver). This MAY be a different driver and has the System Mixer - you may have to go through the Recording TAB Section, RIGHT click to show disabled and disconnected devices to see it, if it's there.
