I uninstalled a stupid program made by NCH Software and now when I boot into windows 7 nothing works. I double click on my computer and get a "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Administrative Tools\Computer Management.lnk The parameter is incorrect. error...

If I try to run CMD.exe even in safe mode I get a "No such interface supported" error.

Can anyone help? Thanks in advance!

Can you boot into safe mode and use a restore point before this problem occurred?

I tried to do it through safe mode with no luck... I cant open any of the programs... In Safe Mode (recovery mode) when I click Control Panel I get the following error:

::{26EE0668-A00A-44D7-9371-BEB064C9863}\0
This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Please install a program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel.

and this error:

Eplorer.EXE
This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Please install a program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel.

...

cmd.exe still gives me the "No such interface supported" error and
my computer still gives me the "The parameter is incorrect" error.

any thoughts?

I just found out that I am able to get into command prompt via safemode with command prompt. does anyone know what batch commands to run to "flush" / "replace" the erroneous data that could be causing the problems?

Start System Restore from a command prompt

This worked... I restored to a point 3 days earlier and everything is fine now... thank you. Now I need to figure out how to uninstall the NCH Software program without messing up my computer!

What is NCH software exactly?

Google came up with a list of different items.

It really sounds like somehow the uninstall managed to remove or horrendously corrupt a large branch of your registry. All those long numbers were object IDs and they link to executable settings (like Explorer) in the registry. If there is a complete break between all exe object IDs and their name/settings entries in the registry this kind of thing can happen.

Before playing about with the uninstall again. Always do a system snapshot just before "taking a chance" on it. That way you have a good clean latest snapshot to go back to if you need to do a system restore.

I know NORMALLY one would not think that uninstalling a program would need that kind of paranoia, but in thsi case... :)

Program is called Office Intercom made by NCH Software... If you remove it the proper way "through control panel uninstall utility" ...it messes up the entire computer .lnk files etc.
