No USB headphones work on this computer, they ARE in playback devices

The headphones all work for other computers. When I open playback devices, the headphones appear as "speakers", "USB PnP Sound Device", and "Ready". Where there is usually a volume bar is blank, no bar. I am unable to set the device as default, when I select that option nothing happens.

I know the up to date drivers are installed for the headphones, but the issue is probably related to other drivers inside of the computer. Have fixed before by reinstalling OS, but would like not to do so again.

Please ask for more information if it is needed to fix the issue and suggest anything, I am desperate.

Try a reinstall of the headphones. Connect them, go to the Device Manager listing for the headphones (should be in the Sound section). RIGHT click on the entry to highlight it and then LEFT click "UNINSTALL". Also Uninstall the driver. Disconnect the headphones, restart Windows. After Windows starts, connect the headphones and Windows should detect new hardware and install them. This fixes a lot of flakey problems and Windows device corruptions and may fix your problem.

I have now tried it, does not work. Also, for headphones with a microphone, the Sound window freezes when I go to the recording tab and I have to end the process with task manager.

Please fill in the "My System Specs". What is there now is not enough information for us to try and help you.

Is there any actual vendor drivers for the headset? other than the generic Windows installed drivers? What is the actual make/model of the headphones?
