Solved Noise from CPU while playing games

Hello everyone, I recently facing problem with my CPU I think. When I start to play a game (Elder Scroll V: Skyrim) , my CPU suddenly became so noisy. I don't know if the game will crash or what will happen to it, so I just close the game and everything back to normal. No noise from the CPU anymore.

When I'm listening music, running other program or anything, my CPU doesn't have this annoying noise, but when I'm playing, the noise started.

I'm using Windows 7 Professional, a i5-2500 processor, a NVIDIA GeForce 9500GT and Realtek Audio (From the motherboard I think, because I didn't add any sound card?)

Any help would be appreciate

I would guess it is the fan on the Video card. Some speed up when needed(when playing games usually, or something graphic intense, to keep the card cool enough.).
I suppose it's a possibility that it is the CPU fan, but usually if it's loud enough to hear that well, it's the fan(s) on the video card.

what temperatures do you get when playing and its only ingame right, as for the fan noise it, it probably is your vid card trying to keep your card from overheating or there's a chance that it can possibly be the cpu fan but i also believe its your video card fan

Oh, so because of the old video card, it cannot keep up with the graphic, so it make noise?

Easiest way to tell is to open up your case and start a game, then you can tell what's making the noise.

if the noise starts instantly when the game starts its not going to be your CPU fan as its not going to get hot enough, and most fans will spin at 100% when plugged into the mobo anyway so it would always be audible.

If it is your card it could just be just, so a good clean may help

I see...
Well, one weird thing is, the first try, I remove my case, then the whole computer restart. So I leave the case open, and then after the restart is done, I run the game, no noise. Second try, I close the case, the computer restart again. And I run the game again with the case closed. Noise produced again. Third try, restart the computer, start the game without removing the case, noise started to produce, but after a little while, the noise disappear....
What is wrong with it?

This is not good! There might be something loose inside your PC (a plug, a peripheral card, things like that) or you may have a serious electrical problem causing something to short out and reset your PC.

I wouldn't be surprised if one of the fans (or associated heatsinks) is loose; this can happen particularly with the CPU fan/heatsink. Make sure it's still on solid and doesn't wiggle - if it does, it would be best to take it off completely and replace the thermal paste with a fresh layer before replacing the fan/heatsink.

I don't restart myself... the PC restart itself. Well, I not sure what is the problem, I think everything is okay. I check everything and nothing is loose....

Ok you have a short. That's bad! You risk taking out one or more component if it shorts against the wrong thing.

You need to check that all plugs are securly in place, and check that non of the bundled or hiden cables you have are faulty/touching metal.

But.. the PC just restarts?
Does this happen often?

Do you get a BlueScreen or error message of any kind?
If the computer just shuts down on its own, and there are no error messages of any kind, it could also be a power issue.


Might be dealing with a failing Power Supply too, getting noisy under load then failing.

Unless i missed something in a previous post.

My bios has an option to shut down the pc and restart if the case is opened- I have no idea why it has this option but I just set it to disabled. Doesn't explain the noise though.

Ah, OK.
Likely not a PSU issue then. The restart what got me thinking it.

Yes, the PC just keep on restart itself. I don't get BlueScreen, error message or any kind of other error. Probably current problem?

Its a possibility.

The easiest way to know for sure, is try swapping out with a known good PSU and see if the problem goes away.

The problem was solve already, don't know why, but everything is fine now...
