Nokia Booklet 3G brings all day mobility to the PC world
August 24, 2009

Powered by the efficient Intel Atom processor, the Nokia Booklet 3G delivers impressive performance with up to 12 hours of battery life, enabling people to leave their power cable behind and still be connected and productive. Delivering the rich experience of a full-function PC inside an ultra-portable aluminum chassis, the new mini-laptop weighs 1.25 kilograms, measures slightly more than two centimeters thin, and has the features one would expect from the world's leading mobile device manufacturer. A broad range of connectivity options - including 3G/ HSPA and Wi-Fi - gives consumers high speed access to the Internet, including Nokia's broad suite of Ovi services, and allows them to make the most of every moment and every opportunity.

I heard 400 euros w/o contract - not bad for 12hrs battery life, 3G, and HD (1280*720?) screen. That latter thing is something I've been waiting for, makes browsing so much more practical.

I'm worried about the EU taking them to court, since they seem to offer only one OS - Microsoft Windows.

Seems there should be a choice of Ubuntu, other Linux distros, an Apple OS or two, and maybe an advanced European DOS.

You could select the one you want at initial 'boot-up', then it would install itself.
Of course, all the other options would legally have to be deleted (Only one install per customer, after the selection was made.)

The EU is not playing fair here... :roflmao:

[off-topic]I think a lot of people will be making fun of the EU after that ridiculous 'IE' thing. I'm waiting for them to go after Apple for Safari, and Linux we need not worry about because its open-source, not many can boss them around.[/off-topic]

Anyways, that booklet is very sexy. If I wasn't going to build a gaming computer (when I get a source of cash) I would likely buy that. =P
