Non-Bootable to Bootable - How?

Please post me link to create non-bootable applications to bootable. I have seen many tutorials about making Windows XP, Windows 98 or Windows ME non-bootable cds or dvds into bootable ones. I want to learn how to make windows 7 non-bootable dvds into bootable dvds. Also how would I get the boot sector img or bin files which could be used at the time of burning for making a dvd bootable.
Please help.

Huh? As far as I have discovered, Windows 7 DVDs (from MS) are all bootable.

Are you asking how to make a DVD/CD containing just data files bootable?

Or, are you asking how to create your own DVD and make it bootable so you can have a "portable" version of Win7 -- because, as far as I know, this is NOT possible.

I want to learn how to make any application bootable.This is definitely possible. I think one requires to have bootable sector files and the method of burning it on the media.

No, it is not.

Some applications are built as "portable", meaning, you can have the application on a USB stick and carry it around with you. Thus, you could have a bootable USB stick with the app on it, and then you could boot from the USB stick and run the app -- on virtually any machine.

Other applications are not portable, meaning, they have to be installed to the OS and that requires registry entries.

An application, in and of itself, is not bootable. It's just an executable (or script) that runs in an OS. In order for a disk/USB stick to be bootable, there needs to be something to "boot". And, as I said earlier, you can't make a copy of Win7 that you can carry around and boot from a USB stick.

Maybe you're confusing "boot" with "autorun" -- the second will autolaunch an app when you open the media containing it. For example, you stick in a movie DVD and the next thing you see is WMP -- playing the movie. That's not booting; that's automatically launching WMP and pointing it to the video on the DVD.

I think I have not made you understand. Suppose dvd media has stopped booting and we want to fix that. For doing this – we copy the entire contents of dvd media as ISO image file on our PC. Then we open Nero Burning Rom and select DVD Rom (Boot) and on the same window on the toolbar we select “ Boot” as our option. Then we selct “Image” and browse to show the path where our bootable sector files are located in our drive – these are usually downloaded “ img” or “ “ bin “ extension files. After that we proceed further and in the “ Kind of Emulation” we select – “ No Emulation”. Then further down we select “ number of loaded sectors “ and then proceed to burning of DVD.
I would like to burn the windows 7 dvd in a similar way with the bootable sector files - having “ img” or “ bin” extensions.
Now I want to know whether this is possible with Windows 7 or not ? If possible where could I download these boot sector files having “ img” or “ bin” extensions.

There are some programs that can be made bootable by being burned to a USB or CD/DVD.

You mean you want to portabolize Windows 7?? As far as I am concerned Linux ISO's can be burned to a CD/DVD or be installed to a USB which you can boot and even run Linux from. But Windows 7, there is a tutorial on how to burn the Windows 7 ISO to a USB so that you can install Windows 7 FROM that USB but not really run Windows 7 as a functioning operating system inside the USB.

But here is another link on how to "make a portable version of Windows 7" and its different from the tutorial I found on this forum. I am not sure if that can make you run Windows 7 from booting on a USB as a functioning operating system rather than just an installation setup.
