Non update

Yeah, it's fine Jacee. It just stayed at 92% forever trying with all 5, so I tried again, same thing. I just downloaded and installed one update, then rebooted, then it downloaded and installed the rest without problem.

One for IE, one for Windows Media Center and one for Windows 7.

well actually this is the chrome betas (which are called chromium, and to me chrome is still a beta...:sarc i usually update it daily with the latest nightly build and test the heck of it...

and yes i can actually see the storm jacee...

For me chrome still doesnt work so Im not bothering with it until its properly out of real real beta.

I was playing COD5 multiplayer fine yesterday and have been for weeks, after these so called non updates I can no longer play online without PB kicking me because of an unknown API function error. Anyone who is playing COD5 may want to avoid these updates and even a system restore will not correct the damage.

I am feeling very suspicious about these updates, they know if a update is working without the need for this test, so why are they sending them and what are they really.

Hi Mark,

As far as I can see only the first two of the updates were actually the dummy updates - the other three had KB references so should be actual changes - have not had chance to go through the KB's yet but hopefully will later. I did have an occurrence of a known issue with Logitec's setpoint updater but no other problems. It is worrying that a system restore is not curing your issues though

I'm thinking of doing another Repair install, I think that should remove any updates and return it to the original state, hopefully that will fix it.

Hi Mark,

There was 1 update for the MC codecs in the future case not working
1 for IE and 1 for non- compatibility issues with Win7. Perhaps that's the one that messed something up for you. I know when I installed those 3 and the two test ones, it got stuck at 92% downloading status forever. I must admit, overall performance seems to be more sluggish for me since installing all 5 even with x64 and 8GB. Maybe I'm just imagining it but...
