none of mycontacts have an email address defined

I use Windows Live Mail Version 2011 (Build 15.4.3538.0513)

Wanted to forward an email and clicked on the To box. I got the following message:

"none of your contacts have an email address defined".

Then tried to send a regular email and got the same situation.

I obviously need to get all my email addresses back.

What happened and how do I correct the issue?

If you store your contacts in a Hotmail account, then use it to sign-in to WLM it will work.
