Hi everyone,

Am looking to get a budget graphics card so I can game, I am not looking to spend a lot and it doesn't need to be top of the range.

I am running a 750w PSU and have an AMD motherboard. I think I need a full height card to fit and have around £100-£130 to spend. I have read a few reviews and have been looking at this

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2GB-MSI-R...raphics_Video_TV_Cards_TW&hash=item540fb852a6

Any recommendations?

Thanks in advance :)

Mach mate first up make sure the Ebay store is a legit site. Second why not try Amazon for prices and third I would not be going with MSI - but that is a personal thing I prefer the Asus GPU's and have GTX 650's (one Ti) in my machines but there again it probably doesn't come up to the specs you are after and it depends on the budget - cheaper really does not mean as good.

PS I meant to add I prefer NVidia to AMD too

2GB SAPPHIRE AMD R9 270X OC - 11217-01-40G - Scan.co.uk
8 quid more expensive for the next card up, has dual fans so cooling will be great, when on budget, i'd always choose AMD, more bang for your buck, also their higher up cards have more ram which means at higher res they will perform better than nvidia, a 3gb amd card vs a 2gb nvidia card of the same caliber the amd will perform better at higher res due to the added ram.

XFX AMD Radeon HD7870 2GB Double Dissipation Edition AMD PCI Express Graphics Card - FX-787A-CDFC - Scan.co.uk A little cheaper, at £112 , 7870 is a good solid card, would do great.

Thanks for your reply ICit2lol,

I am really new to all this so am really looking for some guidance, How does this one look?

Asus Nvidia GeForce GTX 750 Ti Graphics Card (2GB, GDDR5, PCI-Express 3.0): Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories

One other thing, I need a full height one due to the case I have, is this an option to look out for or are they all inter-changeable?

Cheers
Very nice indeed but like I said I am NVidia through and through and don't game so Devlin's choice might be a goer. The only thing is I has so many problems with the Catalyst Control Centre with AMD so on my mates advice dumped it for NVidia.
Really much a of a muchness really and does depend on how you use it:)

amd CCC is great, i use it to OC my cpu, and it lets me choose whether i use 1gpu or 2, you dont need to install it, you just need the drivers:) you can choose to not install it when you go to install the drivers:)

I can do that? I should've removed CCC and just let the drivers run my GPU :(

Apart from the odd VRAM hog game (ie Watchdogs) - the extra VRAM doesn't make any difference until reaching resolutions higher than 1080P - 2560x1200, multi screens etc (Op has a single 23' monitor, so 2GB is plenty.)

A R9 270 with aftermarket cooling will be fine for your needs OP. It's faster than a similarly priced GTX 750ti

The GTX 760 is better than a 270, but is akso more than you want to spend.

Uninstall CCC, and when you re-install - select drivers only. But it doesn't hurt to have CCC if it's not causing an issue.

I am using an ATi Card. I've heard that CCC is the driver of ATi and for AMD it's just an add-on software, is it true?
