I'm working from an imaged W7 laptop from work and they have changed some things from default that I like on my own personal system. I'm looking how to reset the left click action to default. Lets say you have 2+ explorer windows open and you left click, it should normally pop up with the Aero preview of whichever windows are open. The way they have it set when you left click it jumps to your last used of those windows. How on earth do I get this back to default?

Check the mouse options and change the (I think you mean right click not left click. Unless you are left handed) option for that button back to the default setting.

Definitely mean the left mouse button, and I'm right handed. Checked the mouse options, but there is nothing referring to what to do when the left button is clicked on buttons.

You might also want to check your Visual Effects settings:
Go to Start Menu, right-click on the Computer icon, and click Properties. This will take you to the System Properties menu. In the menu on the left, click on Advanced system settings. Under the Advanced tab select Performance and click the Settings button to the right of this section. By default, your Visual Effects will be set to “Let Windows choose the best settings.” You can experiment with these settings as you wish.

If Aero isn't working properly, right-click your Desktop, click "Personalize" and at the bottom of the window select "Troubleshoot Aero and other Transparency errors." This will run the Aero Troubleshooter. It should at least, give you an idea of what is wrong and it may even fix it for you. Make a note of specifically what the Troubleshooter says is wrong with the system.

Thank you for the helpful response, unfortunately I do not have a troubleshoot option. I went through the help ? in the top right corner, but nothing like troubleshooting. :(

Thanks Mike, this is a neat tool, still didn't fix my left click even though I put this in the option. I'm thinking it's something to do with the GPO from my company. I'll harass them about it lol. Like I said in my first post, it doesn't effect my personal computers, so I really think this is part of the image or GPO. Thank you guys for the help. Now onto find neat aero themes!

This works for me, maybe not for you.
Start/mouse in search/left button on mouse. Change from default to what ever you want it to do. I think the third one down is what you are looking for. Previous window.

If that doesn't work, then the options have certainly been disabled in GPO.

I have had loads of problems with stuff like this. I think it has a lot to do with companies/IT Departments being very nervous about allowing their users to change anything at all, and also not knowing exactly what is safe and what isn't, so they "use the biggest hammer they can find", and disable or disallow just about everything. This can indeed be most annoying if you are used to working in certain ways, but apart from asking your admin for a change, there is nothing you can do about it.
