North American Registry runs out of IPv4 addresses

Honestly, I haven't been able to find any information on how it will play out. I've been trying to find information on how the lack of IPv4 addresses in Europe and Asia has a visible effect on the running of their internet but I haven't seen anything.

I'm thinking that we won't really see anything for a long time (as there's still the market and some companies may have been hoarding) but the hardest hit would be new/growing systems such as municipal ISPs, Google Fibre, and future startups. The first two would be bad as it allows Comcast and the like to maintain their monopolies, but the last one may or may not pop the Dotcom 2.0 bubble.

But I'm worried that we will basically have no signs of the impending doom until the resale market skyrockets to very expensive prices and companies deplete their hoard, after which the internet will be largely unstable as companies all try to do a mad rush rolling out new infrastructure that should've been rolled out over the course of a year.

It would still be nice to have an idea as to how the death of IPv4 will pan out, as it seems that that not very many people are actually taking the IPv4 exhaustion seriously.

Even now companies still have plenty of time to make the switch BEFORE IPv4 address are gone even from the black market. I'm worried that it will just be business as usual until companies find themselves not being able to put new servers online, startups cannot get addresses to launch their websites, and new subscribers are unable to obtain a lease.
