My machine comes out of Hibernation or sleep because of a program routine called by Norton's latest botched update.
Event viewer says :WakeSourceText Task Scheduler will execute '\Remediation\AntimalwareMigrationTask' task I have multiple entries that all started when Norton sent me an "upgrade" that I didn't ask for. They also took away the ability to BLOCK ALL NETWORK TRAFFIC as a feature of the firewall. Might be fine for those that don't use it but I did on occasion.
How to stop this Remediation\AntimalwareMigration Task from running? I am told this is to accommodate Win 10 and there is an alleged fix for it from Norton but I can't get it, it won't start to d/l when I click on it and I can't find it anywhere else.
Other than removing all vestiges of Norton and putting something else in it's place what can I do to keep the machine on standby without it waking up and shutting down every 3 hours or so?
Only way I see it is to shut the machine down entirely, THEN it doesn't wake up. OR switch over to my Linux Partition and use my version of Rafaela 17.2. Norton can't touch that one....
I was told to go to this site and get the 'fix': https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/home/current/solutions/v113935352_EndUserProfile_en_us
Sadly that FTP site doesn't work for either file available there.....
