norton red cross

does anyone know how to uninstall norton,(i don't have original software), i have a virus that has completely shut down my mozilla firefox , i can't get my favorites list anymore. it's a real bummer! and norton has gone into the red mode (red cross) if anyone could me a detailed run thru on how to uninstall norton, so i can put in a new anti-virus program, (kaspersky) that would be great. thanks a lot

Use this uninstall tool to remove Norton but Kaspersky is just as bad. Were it me I would install Microsoft Security Essentials

Time to download malwarebytes and do a full scan. Otherwise just removing norton will not help you.

Works great and let it update. then do a full scan.

Glad Norton's keeps up with the nasty guys. Got an e-mail with attachment this morning and Norton's removed the "Trojan.FakeAV" right away. Email was about free tickets from American Airlines. Norton's is well worth the small amouint I pay each year.

I have used Norton's Internet Security many times and its very good. Their Customer Services has drastically improved. However, if you continue to open emails from unknown sources it won't matter how good your security software is you will still get an infection.

I have a rule that is sometimes not easy to obey but I obey it anyway, and that is, if in doubt delete it.

Well, I really didn’t open it and besides attachments do not get through my e-mail. I just went on line and looked at it. I sent Norton’s to look at the Attachment and it did its job without opening it up. I have only been at this computer stuff for 53 years and am still learning.
