I have a 1gig external HD which I backuped using Norton Save & Restore Ver. 2. My Windows XP PC died so I got a new one which runs Windows 7. Norton Save & Restore will not run under Win 7. I can see the drive but can't read the contents. Can anyone help so I can restore my saved files from this drive.

Thanks in advance.

Is your Norton current meaning are you paid into 2011? If so then you also have free Norton customer support available to help with this situation. If needed please have the case escalated to a specialist if your not getting the warm and fuzzy from your first contact. My girlfriend and father both are big Norton 360 fans and as the in house IT guy I've used them several times for help. They can even take control of the screen and help solve right in front of you.

As far as I know, NSR is not compatible with win7. Your best bet would be to hook up the backup to a computer running XP and resave everything as regular files.

Also, I presume the external HD is used for data only? In that case theres really no need to backup with 3rd party tools, just copy paste onto other media.
