Not a clue what happened

I got a new Dell computer for Xmas. When turned on, the desktop had a bar at the top of the screen with icons in it like the recycle bin icon along with 4 or 5 more. It is now gone, so I can't empty the recycle been or anything else. Can anyone help me on this. Thanks

What you have is called the Dell Dock, Dell put it on your computer. Read your computer manual to see how to restore it. Here is a url with some questions about the Dock. Hope this helps
The dock disappeared off the top of my windows 7 desktop. How do I get it back?
