Hi,

We have a third party vendor which offers their software downloads from their share point site and since we upgraded to windows 7 , we are not able to access the site from any of the browsers - tried with IE9, Chrome and Safari. When I access the site, it keep asking for the credentials (pop-up) again & again and never accepts the same.

When I try the same from my phone or ipad, it works.

Please note, this is an internet site not intranet.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Micky

I have never tried SharePoint across the Internet - so this will be a total guess.

You might want to try the credentials in the form of:
servername\userid
password

Thanks for quick response, I forgot to mention but I have been trying to enter the credentials in this format (servername\userid) only.

Thanks
Micky

These all things applies when I try to open the sharepoint site in same network as mine and I would like to do an SSO kind of thing but my case is different. It's cross domain and on a different network with a vendor.

The first screenshot showed adding a website to the Trusted sites zone. I realize that the website could be an intranet site, but I thought that the same thing applied to Internet SharePoint servers. Is the server that you are attempting to authenticate to listed in your Trusted sites zone?

I doubt that there is any more that you can do on your end. It seems like a problem on their end. They need to support current Windows authentication methods. It is odd that Apple products work when Windows products fail.

I think it is some policy at my work computer because it works fine on Windows 7 computers which are not built using my office standard OS build.

Open gpedit.msc

In the left pane:
Expand Computer Configuration
Expand Administrative Templates
Select All Settings
(It is at the bottom.)

In the right pane:
Sort by the column named State
Open/examine any entry where the State is Enabled.

Repeat the steps above for User Configuration.
