Does anyone else think that there are not enough items viewable at any one time in windows explorer? I find that the bars on the top and bottom of the screen, combined with the size of the font, and the space in between each item listed, takes up too much screen real estate. In XP, you could have a LOT of folders listed on the left hand side of the screen, but in Win7 I find myself wanting to be able to see more. I am already running at a very high screen resolution.

If anyone knows of a way to increase the number of folders/files viewable onscreen at once, please let me know!

Screen resolution, DPI are your best options. Directory structure might help.

Rt clk Desktop, Personalize, Display, choose 100%

You might try Personalize, Window Color - resize everything there - but I have NEVER had a satisfactory result. Too many applications do not call the same APIs to support this as a viable solution.

Turn off Aero will buy some screen space also.

And you can adjust what is shown in the layout via the organize button. By the way list view will let you view the most items on screen.

Thanks for the replies, guys - that's good advice but I still think more space should be able to be had somehow.

Let's hope MS gives an "extra small" option as there is an extra-large option already.
