"Not responding" is displayed on the title bar, the office windows(Excel or Word) is dimmed and the software ceases to respond to the mouse or the keyboard. It happens to Office 2010 Excel or Word. My questions are:

1. Is there any way to save data under this condition?
2. How can this problem be fixed?

I carried out the repair install but the problem came back after a while.

Edit: The problem has been resolved by disabling an add-on software.

Sorry to be so negative, but, with a little research you will find there is NO solution to this problem. The net is literally full - 70000 + hits last check all saying the same thing. IF there was a solution it would have been made public by now due to the high user rate.

This is firmly a Microsoft issue which is being ignored by them.

Still, the good news - Why not spend some more money on Windows 8, surely that must be better? yeh, right.
