Not Responding

Internet explorer not responding, excel not responding, word not responding, every program not responding about 1 out of 3 times so I have to wait a minute for them to respond or close them out. I have my virus program up to date and does a full scan every week in my settings and is updated everyday. I don't know why this is happening but I could re-load Windows 7 OS which is a full version and I went from IE 9 to IE 8 and back to IE 9 and that didn't help. I'm thinking of putting in a new drive and just starting over but would ask for any ideas first.

Type in the search box resmon and a window will open, here you can view your CPU, HD, Memory usage and maybe see what is going on.

Yes, you may have some background processes running. Remon will show graphically how much memory is available.

You can use CCleaner (se below my sig for a link) and run it at default settings to clean up temp files. However under options/advanced uncheck the box for Only cleanup temp files older than 48 hours.

Run the built-in windows defragging progrm.

Its either a registry problem or your pc is just overheating.Download a temp monitoring software.There is one called Core Temp that is free and really accurate.You will know if your pc is overheating.If its overheating then clean up your pc.

You can also run memtest96(google it) to ensure you dont have faulty rams.
You could also try defragmenting

Every time I download something for anything like CPU temp. I get a program that is 10 time what I don't want and by the time I get thought all the crap they put you though I end up deleting it. Anyway I went into the BIOS and my CPU is at 109 degrees and my motherboard is at 86 degrees. I have my CPU fan set for Ignored otherwise it sounds like a jet engine. With an overheated CPU I usually get the blue screen of death. But with all the "Page not responding" it might be my CPU and I'm not sure how to check it except to reload my OS from scratch into another drive which I am going to do and if I still get "Page not responding" then I'll have to replace the CPU and then if I get "Page on responding" maybe my motherboard? I would appreciate any insight you might have. Thanks

Is that temp in Celsius? if so you have a major temp problem...

You have turned off your CPU fan? Doing this may kill your CPU.
