hey guys.. i bought this notebook some days ago:

Notebook Dell Inspiron 1545 ,Intel Dual Core T4200 2.0GHz, 4GB, 160GB, LCD 15,6", Wi-Fi , Windows Vista Home Premium

as you guys can see... came with WINDOWS VISTA... and realy.. i hate windows vista..
i´m using windows7 in my pc for months.. and i liked a lot...
should i install windows7 in this notebook? will handle well?
and if yes... x64 or x86?

We are getting more old threads now that Google seems to increasingly put 7Forums at top of searches.

I may be wrong, but this appears to have really increased lately. I will Google a fresh thread's issue and the first result will be the thread I'm in.

It's like Google is pressing us to come up with the solution. A little creepy, but impressive.

Just fyi, have a dell inspiron 1545 that had vista 64 bit, and fairly successfully upgraded it to windows 7 home premium 64 bit. I did not do a clean install, mostly cause I am lazy and did not want to hunt around for all the drivers. Itd id ok, the only driver it had problems with was the webcam. Everything else is ok.

Three family members have this laptop, and I've installed Windows 7 on all of them, from a clean install. It runs very well, and your choice in platform will be governed by the amount of memory you have installed. You state that you have 4 GB installed, so x64 would be the best option.
