Notepad++ and the context menu

Running Windows 7 64-bit and just installed Notepad++ (v5.5.1) using the exe installer package.

The context menu entry "Edit with notepad++" is not showing up.

Also tried the manual method of running the reg.bat file to add the menu entry which also did not work.

Anyone else run into this issue?

I noticed that too, I think even with 5.5.0. I don't know what happened. :huh:

Just installed V5.5 and the context men item installed fine and works!

Add Notepad++ to Right-Click Context Menu (incl 64bit)

The attached OpenWithNotepad++.reg file will add "Open with Notepad++" to the right-click menu for all file types on a 64bit version of Windows 7, Vista, or XP. If you want to change "Open with Notepad++" to something else feel free to edit the REG file before applying it. To add any program to the context menu for all files simply follow the directions from HowToGeek and replace notepad.exe with your program:
