Notification Area - spaces between icons? - more rows?

Hi there and welcome,

I am new to this forum and I am new to 7.
I knew that that's gonna bugs me prior to win7 installation, but due to problems with vista I decided to upgrade to better(?) 7.

Now in vista I had 3 rows in tray, now in 7 I have only two rows.
When I was checking 7 out as in virtual machine I've managed to make the space between icon smaller (now I don't even remember how I did it), however it was still displaying two rows of icons.

Is there any way perhaps using system tools to improve it?

Hi,

Right click the taskbar, unlock it, and drag it up a little more, then it will have 3 rows. Is that what you're wanting?

I appreciate your post, but I know I can do this, unfortunately I don't want to make the taskbar any bigger. The space between icons in tray is much greater then in vista, which I don't like. I know there is new feature underneath the icons as soon you move the mouse over the icon, but that's needless.
