I am having problems with the notification Icons. I pull the ones I want out of the overflow box onto the right hand end of the task bar but the next time I start my Laptop they are back inside the overflow box. I have tried opening the overflow box and clicking on "Customise" and setting the required Icons to "Show icon and notifications" but when I start up the are missing again.

Hi Mr Brink, Thank you very much for all this information I have gone through all the instructions and will see tomorrow when I switch back on if all is well.

Well after all that work there was still no difference, all of my icons had returned to the overflow box when I switched on today. I even download a Microsoft Hot Fix that was supposed to cure this problem but it would not even install, a window opened saying that it was not suitable for my system although it was intended for Windows 7 64 bit.
Never mind I will just have to put up with it until Windows 10 comes along.
