Hello. Sorry if this has been asked before, I have tried to search for it, but there's too many threads so I'll just ask. Systray, notification icons. There are three options for their behaviour: 1)SHOW ICON AND NOTIFICATIONS 2)HIDE ICON AND NOTIFICATIONS 3) ONLY SHOW NOTIFICATIONS Well, I need option to SHOW ONLY ICONS. Is there a way to do that ? I would like to do that for one specific icon (internet connection icon).

i would just show the icon with notification for that as the internet connection icon doesnt really give you notifications. or the wireless connection icon.
i've yet to see one.

It does. The question though isn't if it does or not, but "How to show icons, but disable notifications?". It doesn't seem to be possible to set up in GUI, so is there some kind of registry value I can change ?

I don't remember having problems with security center, only with "internet connection" icons. There are many ways how to connect, so I will tell you mine - I am on cable internet (RJ-45), but I leave wifi on - I use "netsh wlan start hostednetwork" so my Android phone can connect to my notebook which acts like wi-fi hotspot. But there are also few wi-fi networks with low signal strength, which I however use sometimes. Even I am on (fast) cable internet, my laptop sometimes connects to them and it gives me notification. "additional log on may be required" - that one. So that is what I mean Boohbah, this popup notification. But I use that low signal strength network sometimes, so I don't wanna go and enable connecting to it every time I need it. So what I need - how to hide that "additional log on may be required". That's how my network provider works - you have to enter pass/login for it to work. But this notification is about that "low signal strength" wifi I am sometimes catching. My cable internet is already logged in, but this "LSS" flashes there sometimes.

Hello to you too. I looked at your article Brink and will look into it a bit. But for this particular problem, I don't wanna turn off balloon notifications altogether. I wanna turn off this exact notification which I mentioned in my previous post.

As far as I know this is not possible. You could disable the icon altogether but I don't think that's what you want ether.
