After my beloved iMac slowed down a little, I bought an assembled windows machine. Primarily for heavy Photoshop CS5 work. I also work in Bridge CS5 to organize n stuff. Right from the day one I'm having many problems while working in Bridge CS5. I started to get BSODs everytime I open a folder with heavy PSD files (100-800 MB) in Bridge CS5. Once they start to come they keep coming untill I give my PC a long break, and when they don't come they don't come for a long time.
The error I get most of the time is Memory_Magagement.
I already checked the memory and it looks fine.

Thanks

I'm attaching some recent crash dumps:

Welcome to SevenForums

This may or may not work for you, but I'd replace that GPU. My old video card always crashed photoshop, even when working on relatively small files. High-end visual programs often require high performance or even gaming cards. Good Luck.

In addition to the above, two of your dump files pointed to bridge.exe. Bridge is a legitimate Adobe program; however, bridge.exe has been known to be infected by a Trojan.

I recommend that you download and install Malwarebytes and do a thorough scan of your system. In addition, I suggest an online scan by HouseCall or some other free, reputable online scanner.

Let's eliminate the possibility of a malware infection.

First of all Many Thanks Tuan, Marcus and Carl for such instant replies.

One strange thing which happened last night, since the bridge was crashing a lot I din't open it for this session and I was browsing the forum on FireFox suddenly it crashed, I tried opening the snitch tool and instead of opening I got the message that the program crashed and a third application crashed just after that.

Will upload the dump file after my system starts as I'm checking the memory with Memtest86.
Its in its 7th pass and 10th hour, is it normal for it to take so long?
Will do the Malware scan as soon as the system restarts as Carl suggested.

Here's the progress and its still on.

Yes, please do the malware scan as carl suggest and post any new results

Good luck

Actually, Bitdefender just released a beta (2011), so you may want to try that. If not, I'll tell you about it once I get it.

Thank God it was night here, when I started the Memtest86… I didn't know it'll take so long.

Thanks Marcus, just registered for the 2011 campaign and now downloading it.

Will surely keep you guys posted.

Third-party internet security programs are notorious for causing crashes, and Bit-defender is no exception. I would recommend to remove bit-defender just for testing before making any further analysis.

Thanks Tuan,
But I installed BitFender after restarting the PC just to make it clear that it isn't a problem because of Malware/Viruses.

Will keep you posted.

yeah, I said that because in the 2 minidump files you just posted didn't mention about memory corruption or anything similar...so I thought about Bit-defender, what you just installed.

Edit: Bit-defender is very good anti-virus program, I just suggest un-install it for testing only :)

Sorry. When I was running the beta myself, it started crashing my computer about 10 minutes after turning it on. this may only be me, but I no longer recommend the beta. Also, is there any particular thing that you would do which activated crashes, or did it basically crash at random?

My beta download isn't causing any problems but I'm going to uninstall it too, atleast for a while. Nothing activates the crashes, they are very random. I'll try to find a pattern if I can.

Thanks

Here are the crash dumps:

Well two of three of these point directly to memory corruption. The other may be memory as well. I know you have run SFC, but am unsure if you have run memtestx86 for at least 7 passes. You may have to run memtest one stick at a time to find which is bad. You may also want to test the mobo slots in the same way

I DID NOTICE THAT CAPTUREONE WAS RUNNING IN TWO OF THESE.

Let us know if you need help

Hi Ken,
Thanks for the reply.

Yes I did run Memtest86 with all the sticks in place and it passed near about 9 passes successfully.
Do I really need to run it on individual sticks?

Here's the screenshot of the last test:

It happens all the time, while running Adobe Bridge, Adobe Lightroom etc.
I'll uninstall the CaptureOne and see if it makes any difference.
