Ntoskrnl Drive caused BSOD.

I hope someone can assist in deciphering this crash dmp file. I used a bluescreen view which tells me the cause was the ntoskrnl.exe. I have two items of hardware that i have added since last week, a Dispaly port To DVI cable for the monitor and an external hard drive to the USB 3.0 port.

I need to ask if you have by any chance installed a font update in recent days? <- if not then just skip this.

The BCCode 50 usually occurs after the installation of faulty hardware or in the event of failure of installed
hardware (usually related to defective RAM, be it main memory, L2 RAM cache, or video RAM). Another common cause is the installation of a faulty system service.
Antivirus software can also trigger this error, as can a corrupted NTFS volume.

I would recommend that you visit ASRock's download page and install the driver for USB3.0:
ASRock > Fatal1ty Z97 Killer

No to the Font. I have run a scan now, chkdsk and Memory Test. no antivirus at the moment. Will try the USB driver, i also updated my video drivers earlier to 362.00 for Nvidia will post back if it occurs again. Thanks for the welcome and the driver link Boris

I have installed fresh drivers yet the problem persists. It has crashed 2 more times when the system is idle. It does not happen while it is in use. This time however it points to a cdd.dll. I have attached the report.

I am actually in charge of our WINSUS deployments, and run updates frequently. Just approved 4 today and installed. I have run the update utility and installed the latest chipset drivers today also. I leave my computer on as it runs some software and tasks for our domain. It has been Blue screening around the same time each day and when not in use. None of the tasks run at the times it has crashed, basically while idle. Although the ram tests didnt fail i think i am going to run on single stick and in different slots, disconnect the DVIcable etc and add them back one at a time.

Thanks for keeping up with me, i value this kind of networking. It helps us help each other and future generations of tech people. I will keep this thread alive until i resolve it or discover the faulty part. Im hoping it isnt hardware related as that doesn't really assist anyone in future. What i may do is install a linux OS and see if i have any crashes with that.

Update: I believe this was an OS installation error or corrupted file, I did an upgrade to windows 10 after my last reply, and have had no problems since then. Up time is nearly 7 days now. will restart to install updates and if the issue comes back i will let you all know... hopefully in about 7 days with constant uptime.
