Number key problem after Windows 7 Ultimate Upgrade

Hello. I have a 2008 Dell inspiron 1525 that had Vista on it. Last week I finally put on my Windows 7 Ultimate (32 bit) upgrade which worked just fine and the machine is performing very well except for one problem - my number keys and special characters no longer work. I work for a software company and I have tried everything we can think of. I finally went and bought a USB keyboard this weekend and the same thing happens with the new keyboard after it installed the new drivers. I cannot find ANY information on this on the web. Has anyone heard of this or experienced the same thing?

Open control panel - Region and Language - Keyboard and Languages tab - click on Change Keyboards button and then go to General tab. This opens up Default Input Language and installed Services.

In Default Input Language, make sure that English (United States) - US is selected from the dropdown box. If not select the same.

In the Installed Services make sure you have English (United States) keyboard US is selected. If you find a different keyboard then Add the English (United States) keyboard US, select it with mouse and move it to the top position by Move Up button. Then delete the earlier installed keyboard/s and press OK to close the dialog box.

The problem was Comcast Constant Guard. When I uninstalled that, the number keys started working normally again.
