If your having problems with Nvidia cards and windows 7 they have fixed it.

installing 7 you should have directx 11 now.

Most of the problems I have seen here are because you don't have physx ENABLED. or other small problems. here is what I had to do.

I had to make my Nvidia 2048Gb 9800 gtx pro pci-express give applications settings.

Don't tell your nvidia control panel to use your global settings for your games.

set each game in game.

now set in game the games resolution to your desktop resolution. I had to set all my games to 1680x1050 then I almost passed out.

AMAZED.

The 7 RAM management makes windows put all processes into normal .. even SYSTEM processes when you launch a game.

that process takes over and has real time priority.

so put your nvidia so your games resolutions take control of your video card

then just set them to your desktop resolution.

then set the nvidia to max in control.... and in the game.

then just sit back and freaking die how 7 controls your ram.

For those complaining about older games from the 90's .... buy new games.

the dosbox still works if you want to open that shell. and are a hardcore oldschool gamer but you would know that and I should have to say it here.

here's my tips.

Let Nvida control its core.

In your settings lets all the games you play control the settings (application controlled)

make sure all the new games you are playing have the same resolution as your desktop ( in my case I had to set mine to 1860x1050) then you will see your games like you never saw them before.

KEEP YOUR NVIDIA DRIVERS UP TO DATE.

enjoy and have fun gamers. Windows 7 handles RAM so well that you will never lag again in a modern game. If you are still playing starcraft you might have fix some things for a game 25 years old.

I have a fix for that game by the way. whisper me.

Does this apply to 64-bit version of 7 as well? I'd been stumbling on problems with Nvidia drivers and directx ever since I'd upgraded. I did those settings u talked about but games still crash. 191.07 is really unstable in my point of view (even on Vista as I'm dual booting it with 7 at the moment). I'm not sure if it's because I'm running 64-bit. If I uninstall 191.07 and install 186.18 on 7, the games were running fine (of course, ram management and physx were not as good). But on 7, running either drivers still give me the headache. I'd totally given up on 7 until they come up with better driver support. I think I can at least squeeze the juice off my system for another year or so since it's still pretty new. For the time being, I have to rely on Vista for gaming.

Give this a try. I'm installing it now myself on 2nd machine.

download from Guru3D.com

By the way...Vista and 7 use same driver.
