I know that there is a thread on this already, but it didn't address the certain concern I have.

I have a toshiba satellite x205 S9800 with the above stated graphics card. I have done a clean install with windows 7 64 bit, and my standard device in use in my standard VGA. I have since downloaded nvidia's driver 195.62 WHQL, but have experienced problems like everyone else. Nvidia in it's infinite wisdom decided to mess with the GPU fan settings, and don't let the fan run on auto. So you eventually get an overheated and cooked video card. The solution is to take apart your video card and cook it in an oven for a couple minutes and then let it cool down. I'm not joking. Then you are to download rivatuner and mess with your fan settings and overclocking. First off, I didn't have the fan tab like I was supposed to when I download this stupid thing, so the only thing I could manipulate was the overclocking. That is a stupid and needless hassle that I don't want to deal with. I don't want to run the risk of frying my vid card because Nvidia wants to mess with the fan.

Is there any driver that I can download that will allow me to use my 8700 vid card with windows 7 64 bit and not have fan/overheating issues?

P.S. Toshiba doesn't seem to have any driver updates for it, and the only one I can find for my notebook from Nvidia is this problematic driver. Solutions please :)

If you use Laptopvideo2go, you can try a whole range of drivers to see if it sorts your problem. Try the 195.81, and see the link in my sig if you're unsure how to replace the inf.
