Can you just turn down the fan using the Nvidia software in GPU cooling? It is not terribly loud but would like to turn it down a bit. I have the latest Nvidia control panel with "device settings" with CPU-MOTHERBOARD-MEMORY-GPU. Is this safe? Just want to make my desktop quiet. Thanks for any thoughts.

Okay I have the advanced options and I see it there. I will try it and see what happens. What is the high end temp for a card like this that's still safe? I don't know much about it. Just installed it Saturday.

80c is the max you ever want to see on full load with ANY card, ive had an 8800GT @
96c for over an hour & it kept chugging along, (it sounded like a 4x4 that had been through the bush for a week afterward.... )
but GPUs are designed to run hot..
