I decided to try this out after I got my GTX 480, so I booted to XP, made my desktop 3840x1080 (dual monitor) and launched the app, here is some results for short renders:

ps. first is about 1800 iterations and 2nd is about 1500.

All the ones I've posted have been around 35,000 iterations. You can start to see the best results after around 4000-5000 iterations (1 hour render).

Thery're some nice screenshots, I might try spreading it across both my monitors, too. I've just been rendering at 1920x1080 so far.

Yeah I started with "atleast 5k iterations" attitude but you cannot imagine the noise this card makes, and the fact you cant do anything else while its rendering made me quit

I'll try to get better quality pictures when I can leave my pc on its own

Overnight with fan @ 84% (gpu is 90c), I bet I'd get some nightmares with all that noise
Wish I had laptop or other PC.

I've just set my 470 fan speed to 65% and it's quiet enough and keeps the card running at reasonable temps as well.

I decided to render over night, got to almost 6 hours and looks like this:

By the way, how much power does your rig draw from wall?
I just checked and mine eats 480w with design garage rendering, which seems alot for rendering pictures

Also 673w on furmark Im afraid to do cpu stress test at same time because my PSU is 520w
