Hello. I will first start off with saying that I'm using an old Nvidia GeForce 9800GTX+ 512mb video card.
It has worked perfectly well for me all these years up till this day, when I woke up I found up some strange lines on my monitor screen. At first I thought it was my monitor problem. But then I noticed something when I checked my graphic card device in control panel under "Devices and Printers" and I found interesting error.

"Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)"

Here's screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/1twhDkP.jpg

Then I went to Monitor resolution display and Adapter settings and found this: http://i.imgur.com/RrTNuvw.jpg

All information on adapter/video card are unavailable. It's like card is not even in the motherboard slot.

I also can't start Nvidia Control Panel: http://i.imgur.com/fbKYvdw.jpg

What I have tried so far:
- Fresh install of Windows 7 x32 bit system
- Fresh install of nvidia drivers (latest ones)
- Taking Nvidia video card out of it's slot, cleaning a bit around
- Took cmos battery out aswell

A friend told me that video card might die. But if it died, I wouldn't be able to have display picture at all. The card is working fine, the coolers on it are working fine... I have installed drivers but computer acts as if drivers aren't installed, even tho when I type "msconfig" and go to Services I can see Nvidia display driver service running.

Anyone got any suggestions what I could do?

Hi
It sure sounds like the card is faulty. You could see if you know someone that can install in their computer to see if thing happens on their system. If it the same then card needs to be replaced

Since I have tried everything software related, I guess the only thing left to do is to take to pc service.

That's entirely up to you. I would try the card in another computer or another card in yours.

It went to PC repair store, and they soldered the graphic chip on the card, and now it's accepting drivers and working fine. For how long, I have no idea lol. I'm even afraid to play some games lol.
